Wago 750-641 DALI/DSI master

The cross-manufacturer DALI standard (IEC 60929) aims to ensure the interoperability of electronic ballasts (ECGs) in the lighting sector. This new standard replaces the analog 1V ... 10V dimming interface.

The DALI/DSI master for the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM 750, a 12 mm wide module, fits all controllers of the 750 series.

A DALI master can control one line with up to 64 slaves. Each slave can be assigned to 16 separate groups and 16 separate scenes.

The WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM 750 enables combinations of DALI controllers with other systems. Several DALI masters can be connected to a fieldbus node. The maximum number of modules in a controller depends on the memory requirements of the application.

The WAGO-I/O-PRO programming software is used to program the fieldbus nodes. WAGO supports the easy creation of the application with pre-programmed function blocks for DALI.

The DC/DC converter 288-895 is required to supply the DALI master. The DC/DC converter delivers up to 400 mA and can supply 3 DALI lines with a maximum of 130 mA each (see also the DALI/DSI master manual*, chapter 1.1.1.7.3 DALI bus line). *Documentation available in German and English.

DSI is a manufacturer-specific interface developed by TRIDONIC ATCO. Similar to DALI, the electronic ballasts are controlled digitally. However, unlike DALI, the DSI slaves cannot be addressed individually and do not have status feedback to the master. The maximum number of slaves in the module is limited to 100 devices per line (100 devices * 2 mA = 200 mA). As with DALI, the DC/DC converter 288-895 is used for power supply.
